This blog entry is for adults it is not for anyone which is unwilling to do the research to really understand what is being stating here. My hopes are to shatter a few false perceptions with this blog entry. We all know that Michael was worth lots of money however it was not in cash it was in assets. For Michael to have gotten the amount of money he required to pay down his debts he needed cash!
I don't think that many people realize what sort of a situation this had become or what it would take to get out of this type of situation. We as everyday commoners don't have the worry of balancing large checkbooks with 6 or more 0's behind them. We don't think that just because a person may have a disclosed net-worth of several hundred million that they can also be cash poor at the same time!
The logic of this does not ever cross one's mind when we speak of the rich and what we consider to be super rich to us. Being cash poor calls for one of two things:

Remember the liquidity of assets takes time and who is to say if the seller will get a fair market value for any of their items? Michael made a choice back in 2009 to do a few shows so that he could generate some revenue without having to liquidate any hard assets. I presume Michael had his own reasons for choosing this option as opposed to others. However, make no mistake that certain details in the contract which Michael signed with AEG are questionable. Should Michael have not done the This Is It concerts it allowed AEG to recoup advances and seize his ultimate asset The ATV Catalog!
Make NO MISTAKE these were the terms of the agreement which Michael endorsed and by doing so he agreed to its terms and conditions. I don't think the realization of how serious this was has really sunk in with everyone. Even after over two years of seeing all of these facts presented to us on a daily basis--someof us are unwilling to accept this.

Anyone can experience financial difficulty especially people with large sums of money and assets. Some have many people around them which are untrustworthy; please subscribe to this notion it is the truth! Michael would not be the first celebrity which has been subjected to this. And for sure Michael will most certainly not be the last. I really hate to say that however it is what it is.
Some say money changes people, I beg to differ. This element was in the people surrounding him all along. It just took a little money/greed to bring out the true elements colors of the rainbow. I wish to be emphatically and vehemently clear when I state this to whoever is reading it:

THE SONY/AEG CATALOG.

I promise you if you spend a few days really looking into this you will know what I am stating here is the truth. AEG was about to try to take Michael Jackson to the cleaners!
